Winnebago County Housing
Trust
Single Family
Eligibility:
- New Construction only-additions or improvement projects
DO NOT qualify.
- Only the home owner(s) may apply for the home they purchase or construct.
- Multi-family projects are NOT eligible.
- Incentive is square footage based:
- Up to 900 square feet - $3,000
- 900 to 1200 square feet - $4,000
- Over 1200 square feet - $5,000
- All forms of housing that are subject to property tax:
- Traditional "stick built" construction
- Modular homes
- Manufactured homes
Incentive:
$3,000, $4,000, or $5,000 forgivable loan (payments made by square
footage)
Application Procedure:
- Complete application at beginning of construction.
- Recieve loan proceeds when the county assessor figures the gross living
area, typically when the home is completed or the assessment is done.
- Sign the forgivable loan document when you pick up the check.
