Lake Mills Industry Since
the late 1950’s, the City of Lake Mills has enjoyed a great deal
of success in attracting new business and industry. Lake Mills is not

The Lake Mills Chamber Development Corporation
(LMCDC) spearheads the efforts in the city. Together with the Lake Mills

Industrial Listing Dielectric,
Inc.
This Lake Mills industry was known as Universal Printed Circuits for
many years. In 2001, the company name was changed and the printed circuit
board business was phased out and machine plastics were introduced.
Dras Cases, Inc.
This business is the result of a dream by the owner, Dean Rasmusson,
who, after working in the cabinet and display case industry for a number
of years decided to establish his own business in Lake Mills in 1994.
Since that time, the demand for his custom made store fixtures and display
cases increased, necessitating the addition of 10,000 square feet to the
manufacturing plant.
Epland Trucking, Inc.
The company is a family-owned business focusing on transporting products
produced by Lund Food Holdings to the Twin Cities, as well as serving
other industries in the area. The company has grown substantially since
coming to Lake Mills in 1989.
Fleetguard
Fleetguard, Inc., a Cummins company, is one of the nation’s
largest producers of oil, air, gas and hydraulic filters for automotive,
truck and industrial use world-wide. Fleetguard, Inc. has been a part
of the Lake Mills community since 1958 and continues to be the largest
employer in Lake Mills.
Gilbertson Tool & Die
The company is a family owned tool and die firm serving local and
regional industries. Established in 1986, the company continues to expand.
Larson Contacting,
Inc.
Allan Larson brought his construction business to Lake Mills during
the mid-eighties. At that time he focused on steel grain storage construction,
as well as opening a diesel repair shop. The business has grown into a
well-known construction firm with over 100 employees, building all types
of commercial buildings and grain storage facilities.
Larson Manufacturing Company
Larson Manufacturing, the world’s largest builder of storm doors
and windows, has been a part of the Lake Mills community since 1964. The
second largest employer in the city, the company distributes their products
nationwide.
Lund Foods, Inc.
This business was established in Lake Mills in 1987 as Byerly Foods,
a part of the Byerly food store chain in the Twin Cities. Purchased by
Lund Food Holdings during the 1990s, the company continues to produce
fine quality frozen soup and entrees as well as salads, cakes and dressings
for the Twin Cities market.
Midway Tool and Manufacturing
The company was purchased by John Woelfel in 1995 and has grown as
their customer base bas expanded. In 2000 an addition to the facility
was completed, nearly doubling the size of the business.
Norsemen Trucking, Inc.
The Norsemen Company moved to Lake Mills in the mid eighties and has
enjoyed outstanding growth as an intra-state and inter-state carrier and
mail hauler with over 100 employees.
Palleton Pallets
Palleton Pallets provides pallets for industries, both locally and
throughout the Midwest region.
QCCP
QCCP manufactures acoustical and aesthetic interior component parts
for tractor cabs and other agricultural equipment.
Top of Iowa Cooperative
The Co-op Elevator in Lake Mills is a part of the Top of Iowa Cooperative,
which was formed in 1995 and includes facilities in Joice, Hanlontown,
Scarville and Ventura. The company has the capability of loading 75-car
grain trains in Lake Mills, and offers full service grain handling, livestock
feeds and agricultural fertilizers and chemicals.
Wilkinson Tool
& Die
Established in 1993, this family-owned business makes tooling for
businesses and industries locally and throughout the Midwest region.
Winnebago Cooperative Telephone
Association
WCTA, a member-owned cooperative serving northern Iowa and southern
Minnesota, provides communication services to the Lake Mills community.
WCTA provides local and log distance telephone service using state-of-the-art
digital equipment. advanced calling features such as Caller ID, Voice
Mail, and Telemarketer Call Screening are available as well. WCTA is also
