BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

This event is hosted by LMCDC members and can be held at their place of business or restaurant of their choice. Business After Hours is meant to be a social/networking event, with no speeches or committee assignments.

CITY-WIDE GARAGE SALES

Held on the first or second Saturday in May in conjunction with City-Wide Clean-Up.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST

Promotes residential decorating in Lake Mills. Prizes awarded for first, second, third, and fourth place.

EASTER EGG HUNT

This event is held each spring sponsored by the Junior Women's Club.

FORUMS

The LMCDC sponsors Safety Forums and other training sessions based on input of area industries and businesses.

HOOT 'N HOLLER

This event is held in October and features children's activities and refreshments.

HOUSING INCENTIVES

Gift certificates, free hook-ups, Lake Mills Bucks, and other gifts are presented to owners of newly constructed homes in Lake Mills. The City also offers Tax-Abatement on new home construction.

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION

The Economic Development/Industry Committee holds it's annual industry visitations along with hosting Recognition Dinner in October for area industries.

INFORMATION SHARING BREAKFASTS

The breakfast's were established in 2003 and are held quarterly at 7 a.m. The purpose of the breakfasts is to provide information on current activities of the LMCDC and the City of Lake Mills, and gives individuals a chance to ask questions and become more informed.

JULY JUBILEE

July Jubilee is held the first weekend in July unless the Fourth of July falls on Wednesday or later in the week. In that case, July Jubilee will be held the second weekend of July. The annual event includes a parade, community picnics, entertainment in the park, children's games, street dances, rendevouz, antique tractor show, radio controlled airplanes, and other events.

LAKE MILLS BUCKS

Lake Mills Bucks promote LMCDC businesses and are available at the LMCDC office as $5 or $20 dollar certificates. They make excellent incentives for employees or gifts for family and friends.

NEW NEIGHBOR PROGRAM

New residents to Lake Mills are presented with a package containing Lake Mills Bucks, gift certificates from area businesses, and information on the City of Lake Mills, churches, and organizations.

RIBBON CUTTINGS

All LMCDC members are encouraged to welcome new business owners by attending the Ribbon Cuttings. Refreshments provided by the LMCDC.

TEACHER'S WELCOME BACK BREAKFAST

The breakfast is held prior to the first day of school sponsored by the LMCDC and Lake Mills Community Education Center. The guest speakers area alumni of Lake Mills Community School and new staff members at LMCS are recognized at this time. All employees of LMCS, LMCDC members, and community residents are encouraged to attend this event.

VETERAN'S DAY "A HERO'S WELCOME"

This event honors all those who have served in the Military. Dad's Belgian Waffles are served, followed by a program in Lake Mills Community School Auditorium. The event is sponsored by the LMCDC. All veterans eat free.

YARD OF THE WEEK CONTEST

Promotes beautification of residential yards. Weekly winners are announced during the months of June, July, and August. Two winners are selected at conclusion and awarded Lake Mills Bucks.
